Discovering Their Gifts: A Solution for Emotional Struggles

Discovering Their Gifts: A Solution for Emotional Struggles

Have you struggled before?

I struggled in four areas. As a child, I struggled at the piano and with my family. I struggled in high school, as a student in college, and as a teacher. Through these struggles, I developed a solution that helps me, my students, and my students’ parents.

As a child, I was the family member who had regular meltdowns. I struggled with trying to articulate big emotions. I just melted down. My family got used to it, not that it was easy, but they weren’t surprised. When I practiced the piano, I got so angry I would hit my thighs, pounding hard, until they stung and turned red. Even as I grew up and became a young adult, I struggled with how to articulate my emotions, as I tended to be overwhelmed.

When I started teaching, I loved my students who struggled because I knew what it was like. But I also felt brokenhearted because I didn't know how to help them. I had a lot of students come to me who were on the autism spectrum or ADHD, and they had meltdowns. Some would try to harm themselves, and I would end the day feeling sad and worn out. I cried many times because I thought, “How am I ever going to help them?”

Then, I discovered my solution. This was when I created my signature program, Discovering Their Gifts, which includes four pillars—mindfulness, modeling, movements, and musicality. I have developed a free five-day masterclass that I want to share with you.

If you are a parent or a music teacher with children or students on the autism spectrum or ADHD, and you struggle with them having sensory overload, or constantly sensory seeking,  trying to self-harm, and not being able to express themselves in a healthy way, and being physically awkward and having difficulty with technique at their instrument, then this master class is for you. I invite you to join my free master class.
