Piano Lessons
Piano lessons are about more than learning notes and rhythms.
I want students to feel safe, empowered, and ready to learn as they develop healthy piano technique, musicianship, creativity, and confidence.
I teach neurodivergent and neurotypical students from preschool through adulthood, adapting lessons to each student's strengths, learning needs, and musical interests.
Preschool Students
Preschool lessons are playful, flexible, and designed around how young children learn best. Using Suzuki literature, movement, games, and off-the-bench activities, Hemdah helps students build musical skills at their own pace while parents learn alongside their child.
Early Elementary
As students grow, lessons build on their curiosity and growing independence. Students develop technique, music reading, and listening skills through Suzuki literature, improvisation, duets, and creative activities—all while learning in ways that support their individual strengths and needs.
Mid–Late Elementary
As students grow in skill and independence, lessons expand to include a wider range of music and musical styles. Students continue developing technique, music reading, listening, and creative skills while building confidence and discovering the music they enjoy playing.
Middle School
Middle school students bring growing independence and their own musical interests to lessons. Hemdah helps students strengthen technique and musicianship while exploring classical, jazz, pop, and other music that keeps them engaged and motivated to grow.
High School
High school students bring increasingly individual musical goals to their lessons. Hemdah helps students strengthen technique and musicianship while exploring repertoire that reflects their interests, from classical and jazz to pop, rock, and music for school ensembles.
Adults
Adult students come to lessons with a wide range of experience and goals, from beginning piano for the first time to returning after years away. Lessons are tailored to each student's interests, pace, and goals, with an emphasis on making music both rewarding and enjoyable.
Group Lessons
Group lessons give students opportunities to make music, play games, and learn alongside one another. Through collaborative activities, students strengthen musicianship, build confidence, and experience the fun of being part of a musical community.
